Johnson men's basketball delivered its strongest performance of the season Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 90–59 win over Columbia (SC) inside Douglas E. Karnes Arena. The Royals controlled the game from the opening tip, taking a 39–24 lead into halftime before piling on 51 second-half points to close out the dominant home victory.
Davon Cottle paced Johnson with 19 points and five three-pointers, while Jahmar Brown added 15 points off the bench. Mason Lockhart was a force inside, posting a 13-point, 16-rebound double-double along with four blocks and five assists. Ja'Kobe Strozier chipped in 10 points and six rebounds, and Livingston Cross filled the stat sheet with nine points, six boards, and three steals.
The Royals shot 47.1% from the floor and won the rebounding battle 46–35, with the bench contributing 39 total points. Johnson improves to 1–4 overall and 1–1 in AAC play with the win.
