Royals Take Down Milligan at Home, 85–78
Johnson picked up a strong home win Wednesday night, defeating Milligan 85–78 behind an efficient offensive outing and a dominant team effort on the glass.
The Royals controlled the pace early, taking a 38–33 lead into halftime before delivering a 47-point second half to close out the game. Johnson shot 50.9% from the field and out-rebounded Milligan 40–33, proving to be the difference in a tight matchup.
Livingston Cross led the Royals with 20 points and nine rebounds in a highly efficient 7-for-11 shooting performance. Mason Lockhart added a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring Johnson inside. Davon Cottle was strong from the perimeter with 16 points, including three triples, while Mateu Escamilla Martin came off the bench and provided a huge spark, scoring 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
Johnson also shared the ball well, finishing with 17 assists as a team, led by Garrison Eady's six.
Milligan was paced by Jake Benham, who knocked down seven threes on his way to 25 points, while Elijah Bredwood added 20.
With the win, the Royals continue their momentum as they move deeper into conference play.
