Royals Close Out Space Coast Trip with 1-0 Win Over No. 10 Southeastern
The Lady Royals softball team wrapped up its weekend at the 2026 Space Coast Spring Games in impressive fashion, knocking off No. 10 Southeastern, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Space Coast Stadium. The game marked the Royals' sixth and final contest of the weekend.
In a tightly contested pitcher's duel, Johnson found just enough offense to secure the win while leaning on a dominant performance in the circle from Lindy Webber. The right-hander tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out eight to improve to 4-1 on the season.
After four scoreless innings on both sides, the Royals broke through in the top of the fifth. Kadie Presley reached and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Reese Burns, giving Johnson a 1-0 lead. The run would prove to be the difference.
Johnson managed four hits on the day, with Burns, Megan Armstrong, Autumn Caywood, and Dylan Jablonski each recording one. Burns also drove in the game's lone run.
Defensively, the Royals were clean, committing no errors in support of their pitcher.
With the win, Johnson closes out a strong showing over the weekend at the Space Coast Spring Games, finishing their six-game stretch on a high note against a top-10 opponent.
