Lady Royals Split Doubleheader at Bryan

The Lady Royals earned a split in their road doubleheader against Bryan on April 13, taking game one 5-2 before falling in a hard-fought 6-5 decision in game two.
In the opener, the Lady Royals used a big middle innings surge to secure the win. After trailing 2-0 through three innings, Johnson responded with a three-run fourth inning to take the lead for good. RBI contributions from Megan Armstrong, Reese Burns, and Madison Hood fueled the rally.
The Lady Royals added insurance in the fifth inning as Armstrong and Burns each drove in runs to extend the lead to 5-2. Armstrong finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Burns also tallied two RBIs. Adelaide Hubbard and Aly Dickerson each recorded multi-hit performances to help pace the offense.
In the circle, Madisun Pritchard got the start before Alyssa Nicely delivered a strong relief outing, allowing just one hit over four scoreless innings to secure the victory.
Game two saw the Lady Royals once again battle back offensively. After falling behind early, Johnson plated three runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by an RBI double from Armstrong and a two-run triple from Autumn Caywood to take a 3-1 lead.
The Lady Royals extended their advantage to 5-2 in the fifth inning behind RBIs from Aly Dickerson and Dylan Jablonski. However, Bryan responded with a four-run sixth inning to reclaim the lead.
Armstrong and Dickerson each recorded two hits in the game, while Caywood drove in two runs to lead the offense.
Despite the late push, the Lady Royals were unable to complete the sweep, settling for the split on the day.
