Lady Royals Fall in Game Two, Set for Elimination Matchup Against Pikeville
The Lady Royals dropped game two of their conference tournament series on Wednesday evening, falling 6-0 to Bryan (Tenn.) in Kingsport.
Bryan struck early in the second inning, putting together a string of timely hits to take a 3-0 lead. KP Smith delivered an RBI single to open the scoring before Lakyn Lockhart followed with a two-run single up the middle to extend the advantage.
Johnson struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the game, managing just four hits. Audrey Moorhouse led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Aly Dickerson and Kadie Presley each added a hit. Despite drawing three walks, the Lady Royals were unable to capitalize, leaving six runners on base.
In the circle, Alyssa Nicely got the start and went four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. Bobbie Lozano came on in relief and pitched the final three innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Bryan added insurance in the seventh inning, plating three more runs behind RBI singles from Smith, Juliana Santillanes, and Lockhart to secure the 6-0 win.
With the loss, the Lady Royals now turn their attention to an elimination matchup, where they will face Pikeville in their next contest as they look to keep their postseason run alive.
