Lady Royals Dominate on the Road, Roll Past Truett McConnell 74–34
Cleveland, Ga. — The Johnson University Lady Royals earned their first conference win of the season in emphatic fashion on Saturday, overpowering Truett McConnell 74–34 on the road behind a blistering offensive performance and a defensive effort that never let the Bears breathe.
Johnson took control immediately, racing out to an 18–5 lead in the first quarter and duplicating the margin in the second to enter halftime up 36–10. The Royals shot 50.9% from the field while holding Truett McConnell to just 22.4% on the afternoon.
Jordan Heifner led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, knocking down four three-pointers and adding eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals in an all-around standout performance. Inside, Madison Brady was nearly perfect, scoring 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting while anchoring the paint on both ends.
Freshman Shamiya Francis provided a major spark off the bench with 13 points on a flawless 5-for-5 shooting line, including a three-pointer. Emery Tollett added eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Jadyn Cooper and Megan Biliter combined for solid guard play and ball movement.
Johnson assisted on 20 of its 28 made field goals and won the rebounding battle 34–26. Defensively, the Royals forced 17 turnovers and limited the Bears to single digits in three of the four quarters.
With the win, Johnson improves to 2–3 overall and 1–0 in AAC play, carrying strong momentum into the upcoming conference stretch.
