The Lady Royals dropped a road contest Wednesday evening, falling 86–49 to Pikeville at Appalachian Wireless Arena.
Pikeville built an early advantage and carried a 37–25 lead into halftime before pulling away in the second half. The Bears outscored the Lady Royals 49–24 over the final two quarters to secure the win.
Megan Biliter led The Lady Royals in scoring with 11 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting night. Emery Tollett added seven points, four rebounds, and three assists, while Olivia Bolduc and Hailey Brooks each finished with five points. Reese Fritz provided a spark off the bench with eight points, including a pair of three-pointers.
The Lady Royals battled defensively and forced turnovers, but Pikeville's shooting proved decisive, as the Bears shot better than 58 percent from the field and controlled the glass throughout the game.
Despite the result, The Lady Royals continued to compete for all four quarters as they look to build momentum moving forward in conference play.
